When one is looking to control the noise emissions of a Heating Ventilation and Air Conditionning (HVAC) facility outside a building (either industrial or not), ITS offers a wide range of noise reduction devices for Air Handling Units (AHU) for all applications related to acoustical insulation / soundproofing / prevention of noise nuisance with respect to environment.

They are usually made of metallic splitters with a mineral fiber filling (and make depending on the case: walls and/or roof of the housing aiming at noise limitation). Some of those construction elements may have an insertion loss Di that can reach 50 dB as a standard for medium high frequency (a higher performance can be obtained by the means of special constructions). Depending on the context, attenuators being either dissipative (i.e. with mineral fiber filling) or resonant (i.e. with a vibrating surface device to selectively absorb sounds at certain frequencies) are envisaged.
Regarding products and construction systems proposed by ITS their performance is measured in laboratory according to the current standard:

In some cases (especially if several equipments are involved), noise reduction devices for Air Handling Units (AHU) are integrated in works for managing access and preventing the phenomenon of recycling. Such works include partitions (with acoustic performance) for performing the binding and to ensure continuity of sound insulation between the soundproofing equipment for openings that are silencers for chillers / cooling systems with respect to such works.
